Jets sign RFA Cole Perfetti to two-year contract extension

The Winnipeg Jets have signed restricted free agent Cole Perfetti to a two-year bridge deal carrying a cap hit of $3.25 million per season, per Darren Dreger. The deal will have Perfetti earning $3 million in year one, and $3.5 million in year two.

This comes just after reports had circulated that the Jets and Perfetti gained zero progress on an extension over the weekend.

Perfetti, 22, played in 71 games last season with the Winnipeg Jets, recording 19 goals and 19 assists for 38 points. Throughout his career with the Jets, Perfetti has recorded 75 points in 140 games played. He found a reduction in his ice-time over the past two seasons.

Perfetti will look to maintain a spot in the top-six this season with the Winnipeg Jets in hopes that he can cash out when it’s time to sign a new extension. He will have the opportunity to prove himself under new head coach Scott Arniel, who wants to see Perfetti breakout this season.
